Ushuaia/Punta Arenas

April 20th

Today we stopped in Ushuaia.  We did not have a tour booked so some of us just found a guide on the dock.  It was a good tour.  We drove along the Pan American Highway.  The mountains were beautiful and since this is the South American fall, the trees were changing.100_3596

We then drove on to a lake called Hidden Lake.  It was cold but beautiful

The day had started overcast and light rain but the weather cleared up and again we had a great day.

April 21st

Today we are stopping in Punta Arenas.  This is our first port in Chile.  We are going on a tour arranged by Nancy Smoot, AKA Fancycruiser. This is the first day that is overcast.

Our first stop was at a brewery where we had a short tour and sampled some of their beers.  It was a little early to start drinking but we sacrificed100_3613 ….

When it was on to the Parque Nandu where we saw several different species of animals and penguins.  After the opportunity to see many of these animals in the wild it was a little disappointing to see them in captivity.100_3629

The day turned rainy but at least it wasn’t real cold.  Can’t complain…up until now, we have had such great weather.  This was a tender port so the trip from ship to dock was pretty rocky.  Day was OK but was fun because of the people we are sharing this adventure with.
